Educational background
Dr. Noa Kapelushnik earned her medical degree from the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University, in Israel. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at the Goldschleger Eye Institute of the Sheba Medical Center, one of Israel’s most prestigious ophthalmology institutions. Dr. Kapelushnik also underwent a cornea fellowship at Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva, Israel. She is currently completing subspecialty training in cornea, refractive surgery, and external eye diseases at the University of Toronto.
Refractive experience
Dr. Kapelushnik’s clinical specialties include cornea, cataract, LASIK, photorefractive keratectomy (PRK), corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL), and combined CXL/PRK treatments. She performs both LASIK and PRK procedures.
Accomplishments and awards
Dr. Kapelushnik has been involved in numerous research projects to help advance the understanding and treatment of eye diseases, including glaucoma, keratoconus, and retinoblastoma. Her research has been published in leading international scientific journals such as Ophthalmology, the British Journal of Ophthalmology, the Journal of Clinical Medicine and the Journal of Glaucoma.
Dr. Kapelushnik graduated with honours, receiving the distinctions Magna Cum Laude for her medical degree and Summa Cum Laude for her ophthalmology diploma, in addition to earning the MD Thesis Excellence award. She received multiple research grants in ophthalmology, including for her research on big data as well as the treatment of glaucoma and retinoblastoma.
Dr. Kapelushnik has presented her research at national and international conferences, including those hosted by the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the Israeli Ophthalmological Society.
