Educational background
Dr. Bareket earned her medical degree at the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel-Aviv University in Israel. She went on to complete a residency in ophthalmology at Israel’s Kaplan Medical Center, where she was named Chief Resident, in recognition of her skills, patient care, and academic involvement. Dr. Bareket completed a clinical fellowship at Kaplan Medical Center in the field of cornea and external diseases, giving her extensive surgical experience in both cornea and cataract cases. She also worked as a staff ophthalmologist, and took part in ophthalmology residents training and supervision.
Dr. Bareket underwent an observership program at the cornea service of Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Bareket is currently a cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery fellow at the University of Toronto’s Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
Refractive experience
Dr. Bareket has completed long-term cornea and refractive training in Israel. Her main interests include LASIK surgery, PRK surgery, ICL procedures, refractive lens exchange (RLE) and corneal cross-linking (CXL). She also specializes in diagnosing and treating cataracts as well as corneal diseases.
Accomplishments and awards
Dr. Bareket was presented with the Excellent Resident award by The Hebrew University of Jerusalem for exceptional clinical performance as a resident. As an accomplished researcher, Dr. Bareket’s work has been featured in a variety of academic journals, including Cornea and BMJ Open Ophthalmology.
