Dr. Hamroush earned his medical degree from Alexandria University in Egypt. He then moved to the U.K. where he continued his ophthalmology training with a special interest in the cornea. During this time, Dr. Hamroush earned a post graduate diploma in cataract and refractive surgery at Ulster University in Belfast. He also completed both a Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) in London and a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (FRCS) in Glasgow. Dr. Hamroush later went on to finish a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Hamroush has extensive experience in a variety of cornea and anterior segment procedures, including corneal transplant, complex cataract surgery, anterior segment reconstruction, and CXL.

Dr. Hamroush currently works as an ophthalmologist and cornea specialist with the Saskatchewan Health Authority. He previously taught a refractive post-graduate course at Aston University in Birmingham, UK.

Dr. Hamroush has presented his research at a number of prestigious scientific meetings, including for both the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Hamroush is passionate about accessible eye care. He previously lent his ophthalmological expertise to the Ophthalmologic Hospital of Saint André de Tinré (OHSAT) in the Republic of Benin while doing volunteer work.
