Laser Eye Surgery Procedure Options

LASIK is the most commonly performed laser vision correction procedure in North America.

LASIK eye surgery is an elective outpatient laser vision correction procedure to improve vision and reduce the need for eyeglasses or contact lenses. LASIK can be used to correct myopia, hyperopia or an astigmatism.

Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK Surgery)

Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK) is another laser eye surgery option. Similar to LASIK, the goal of PRK is to improve vision and reduce the need for eyeglasses or contact lenses. There are a few differences between LASIK and PRK, including how the surgeon accesses the cornea and your recovery time.

Monovision LASIK is a treatment where your surgeon corrects one eye for distance and the other eye for near vision. As you age, you will develop presbyopia and likely need reading glasses. The goal on Monovision LASIK is to maintain your ability to read after presbyopia develops.

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) is a vision correction options for patients who are farsighted, or have presbyopia or an astigmatism. RLE replaces your eye's natural lens with an IOL to correct your vision problem.

Cataract Surgery

A cataract is a clouding of the eye's natural lens that results in vision issues. There are many causes of cataracts and they are common in patients 60 years and older. TLC Laser Eye Centres offers several options for cataract treatment including Basic and Premium Lenses and Laser Cataract Surgery.
