Dr. Agarwal finished a Master of Surgery (MS) in Ophthalmology at the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences in Dehradun, India, before undergoing a short-term phacoemulsification fellowship at Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya, a state-of-the-art tertiary eye care hospital in Chitrakoot, India.
Afterwards, Dr. Agarwal completed a clinical observership in anterior segment at St. Thomas and Guy Hospital as well as a clinical observership in cornea at the Moorfields Eye Hospital, both located in London, UK. She also completed a clinical cornea fellowship at Sankara Nethrayalaya, a not-for-profit missionary institution for ophthalmic care in Chennai, India.
She then finished a clinical research fellowship in ocular surface disease Toronto Western Hospital, a post-doc in pediatric cornea at the Hospital for Sick Children, and most recently, a fellowship in cornea, refractive surgery, and external diseases at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Agarwal specializes in a variety of procedures, including LASIK, PRK and ICLs. She completed long-term cornea and refractive training in India, where she gained invaluable experience using the Allegretto Wave Eye-Q 400 Hz laser.
Dr. Agarwal’s research has been featured in a variety of books and peer-reviewed journals, such as the Asia Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology, the American Journal of Ophthalmology, the European Journal of Ophthalmology, and the Journal of Cornea and Ocular Surface. She’s also presented her work at numerous conferences, including for the Canadian Ophthalmological Society and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
